Allison Hovis

Allison Lynn Bennett Hovis, age 40 of W. Academy St. passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Carolina Healthcare System - Cleveland. She was born on May 21, 1976 in Cleveland County to Rocky and Lynn Leatherman Bennett of Cherryville. Allison was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in Daycare. She loved being around children. Allison was an avid Duke fan.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beautiful daughters, Ragan Lynn Hovis and Margaret "Meg" Jones; brothers, Rev. Kevin Bennett and wife, Lutricia, Wesley Bennett and fiancée, Kristen McDaniel, and Kyle Bennett, all of Cherryville; paternal grandmother, Juanita Bennett Hill; Ragan's father, Chris Hovis of Shelby; nieces, Elizabeth and Audrey Bennett; and special aunts, Martha Eaker, Sherry Hayes, and Mary Anne Bennett.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
