Alfred Turner, Sr.

Alfred Courtney Turner, Sr., age 80 of Bessemer City passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his residence.  He was born December 24, 1939 in Mecklenburg County to the late Ace Van and Claira Turner.  Big Al was a former fence builder.  He enjoyed Football, especially Washington.  He cherished his little dog, BooBoo.  Big Al’s greatest love was that for his family.  He enjoyed spending time with them and loved them deeply.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Turner.

Survivors include his children, Marsha B. Sigmon, Alfred C. Turner, Jr., Wendy M. Barbour and husband, Jeremy, and Shelley R. Barringer and husband, Randy, all of Bessemer City; daughter-in-law, Tammy Lattimore; six grandchildren, Michael Sigmon, Tyler Turner, Brandon Turner, Courtney Turner, Tori Barbour, and Nicholas Barringer; a great grandson, Noah C. Sigmon; and a great granddaughter expected next month, Charleigh Faye Turner.
