Alfred Brewster

Alfred Brewster, age 84 of Cherryville, NC, formerly of Abbs Valley, VA, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021.  He was born July 24, 1937 in McDowell County, WV to the late Charlie and Lydia Baldwin Brewster.  Alfred was a retired coal miner.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Alfred also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Derrick Brewster; brothers, Jasper, Jessie, and Albert Brewster; and sisters, Annie Brewster, Ethel Farmer, Lebrun Nunley, and Jeanette Farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Lettie Brewster; daughter, Sharon Rose and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Brian Brewster and wife, Summer, Christopher Rose, Jr., and Alicia Rose; and sisters, Dorothy White and Lola Marcum.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Howard’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Sigmon officiating.  Burial will be private.
