Aileen Hayes

Aileen Catherine Arrowood Hayes, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. She was born March 28, 1937 in Cleveland County to the late Mack and Minnie Mayhew Arrowood. Aileen was an excellent homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hayes; sister, Eunice Ione Towery; and three brothers, Marvin, Otis, and Elmer Arrowood.

Survivors include her sons, Charles and Terry Hayes of Crouse, Rick and Melba Hayes of Vale, and Douglas and Tammy Hayes of Fallston; daughter, Judy and Jeff Leonhardt, of Cherryville; nine grandchildren, Roderick & Julie Hayes, Jason & Wendy Hayes, Lacey Hayes and David Klinck, Charity & Kyle Ogle, Tessa Hayes, Micah Hayes, Aldin Hayes, Dalton and Nicole Leonhardt, and Brandon & Jackie Hayes; sixteen great grandchildren, Morgan Hayes, Camden Wray, Cooper Hayes, Zoey Hayes, Karson Wray, Andy Hayes, Amber Hayes, Carson Ragsdale, Chandler Ragsdale, Jessie Hayes, Paisley Klinck , Kylie Ogle, Mia Hernandes, Serenity Leonhardt, Axel Leonhardt, and Ed Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
