A Carpenter

A D Carpenter, age 97, was born December 19, 1919 and died March 13, 2017. A D was a truck driver for many years for himself along with Carolina Freight. He loved farming and fishing at Carolina Beach and the outer banks. He served in the US Army from 1941-1943. Member of Dallas Masonic Lodge #263 and member of Puett United Methodist Church both for over 60 years.

A D is survived by his son, Dean Carpenter and wife, Jackie; grandchildren, Anna McCarter (Gene), Adrian Carpenter (Rhonda), Jackie McCarter (Sam); great-grandchildren, Harley McCarter, Holland McCarter, Alex McCarter, Kendall McCarter, Austen Dean Carpenter and Raygan Carpenter.

In addition to his parents, Mason and Carrie Mauney Carpenter, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Thomas Carpenter; daughter, Patricia Gail Carpenter and his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at Puett United Methodist Church on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 1:30 until 2:45 PM. A service to celebrate A D's life will follow at the church beginning at 3:00 PM. Rev. Ralph Carver, Rev. Tony Jordan and Rev. Wade Childers will be officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to their pastor, Rev. Ralph Carver and caregivers, Debbie Estelle & Christy Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Puett United Methodist Church (building fund), 3009 Puetts Chapel Rd. Dallas, NC 28034.
